Where to Stay

Toppesfield is a small village and, charming though it is, it's short on accommodation. Unfortunately some of the nearest inns and hotels, such as the White Hart, were fully booked before we were even engaged!

We suggest searching the internet for B&Bs and hotels in the local area. Websites like Booking.com and Late Rooms are great for this (just search for Toppesfield) and there are some lovely villages and market towns close by (like Finchingfield, Castle Hedingham, Clare and Long Melford).

If you just want an easy way to find somewhere to crash for the night, there's a Days Inn about 15 minutes drive away in Haverhill. It's not such a pretty town but it's convenient if you're on your way home via Cambridge.

We've noticed some damning reviews for near-by inn the Wagon & Horses (Great Yeldham) so that may be one to avoid but generally the standard seems to be pretty high in the area.

Refreshments

For anyone who arrives early and thirsty, we recommend a visit to our community owned pub, The Green Man, which is right in the centre of the village and just a short stagger from the wedding venue.
